Leah Ellis

Leah Ellis

· Violin

When Leah was four years old, her family was watching a performance of the Utah Symphony on TV. When they zoomed in on the violin section she became entranced! After a year of begging, she finally received her first violin shortly after her fifth birthday.

Leah has been teaching private lessons since 2007, and taught/developed all of the music appreciation courses for Ensign Peak Academy for several years. Leah also performed as lead fiddler in her family bluegrass band, The Wildflowers, for most of her child and teen years.

Leah Ellis graduated with her BA in violin from Brigham Young University Idaho in 2019, and has dedicated her life to teaching violin and piano, performing with various ensembles, cheering on her husband, and chasing after her young children.

Whether it's playing for fun in her living room, fiddling with her family, performing with large symphonies all over the world, or putting together last-minute concerts, Leah just loves creating music.

Leah is currently teaching in Kaysville, UT, and enjoys performing with the Davis Interfaith Choir and Symphony, the Davis County Celebration Orchestra, and Skyward Symphony.

Besides violin, Leah also enjoys viola, piano, singing, watercolor painting, reading in her Belle-inspired library, and telling the best puns you've ever heard.
