We at Skyward Symphony believe that instrumental music is a unifying and binding force in our community, and our mission is to provide memorable and uplifting experiences for musicians and non-musicians alike.

First, we endeavor to foster an environment where musicians young and seasoned can come together and practice their craft.

Second, we endeavor to consider the needs and values of our community and to provide quality performances that appeal to a wide range of audiences.

We believe in fostering an atmosphere of acceptance and enduring comradery, while at the same time educating and instilling the importance of the standards that make our organization unique: respect, integrity, and personal accountability.

The Skyward Symphony is a community orchestra based in Davis County, Utah and is comprised of musicians from the surrounding area. The orchestra was founded in March 2018 when a group of musicians came together to help a young single adult stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints produce the oratorio Lamb of God. After the production, the orchestra elected to continue as an independent group and the Skyward Symphony was born. Skyward has seen remarkable growth in a short amount of time both in the number of members of the group and community support.

From the beginning, the primary goals of the Skyward Symphony have been to provide a fun and invigorating environment for musicians and to provide quality, exciting performances for the public. The orchestra performs pieces ranging from beloved classical music to showtunes and movie themes in an attempt to appeal to a wide range of audiences. Patrons who attend a Skyward concert are guaranteed to find music they adore.

The orchestra is presently under the direction of Jonathan T. Nish with Sarah Pehrson serving as Concertmaster. Together, Mr. Nish and Ms. Pehrson endeavor to foster an environment where musicians young and old can come together for a rich and rewarding musical experience. The orchestra is still accepting new members, and anybody interested in joining should apply by filling out the form here.
